Immanuel Christian School has been in operation for 50 years. Parents and supporters are committed to see it continue for many generations to come. The school is committed to meeting the changing needs of families in the south end Durham Region. In recent years Club Med has been added for families whose work schedule requires a place outside of the regular school hours. We also operate a full day / 5 days a week, junior and senior kindergarten program in addition to our 3 days a week full day core program.

 

Relevant Teaching Which Engages Students

Our environmental group, God's Little Green Helpers, are actively engaged in educating students on the importance of taking care of the environment by using our resources wisely. They take an active part in recycling paper on a weekly basis.

We continue to review our curriculum resources to remain current. Some of the new resources include:

       Social Studies curriculum, Creation Studies for the Primary grades,

       Social Studies curriculum, DIGS for the Junior grades,

       French curriculum, Mission ABC for the Primary grades,

       French curriculum, Tout Ados and Acti Vie for the Junior and Intermediate grades,

       Math curriculum, Math Makes Sense throughout the grades,

       Language Arts curriculum, Literacy Place for the Early Years to grade 6,

       Bible curriculum, Theme studies for Intermediate grades.

These publications provide teachers with the resources needed to keep the teaching relevant and the students engaged.
