Purpose
Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (NIV)
At Immanuel Christian School we are teaching children for life. The academic program is enhanced by providing a nurturing environment to help each child begin to understand their place as Canadian citizens. Students are taught and modeled the importance of developing their skills and talents to be of service to others and work to the common good.

Program Overview
At Immanuel Christian School the program of study is designed to match the skill expectations of the Ontario Ministry of Education as outlined in the Ontario Curriculum for grades 1 - 8. Our program of study is focused around Essential Questions which help each child develop a worldview that sees hope for tomorrow. Curriculum materials from Christian publishers provide teachers with helpful resources in the classroom. Through teacher instruction, hands-on experiences, field trips and more, students are engaged in their learning and begin the journey of finding their place and role in society. The academic subjects are enriched with a variety of extra and co-curricular experiences.

Performance
At Immanuel Christian School student progress is monitored in several ways to ensure that students reach their potential. A progress report is sent home after the first 6 weeks. This is followed by a student report card being sent home in November, February and June. Students in grades 3 - 8 participate in standardized testing every other year. Students maintain a daily agenda which doubles as a communication tool with the parents. Students with learning challenges receive the support of a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT).
