Benefits to the school
As a volunteer you are in a position to positively influence Immanuel Christian School:
- you serve as an ambassador of the school due to your experience and added knowledge of the school and programs;
- you supplement the school’s resources through the skills you supply;
- you give teachers more time for specific tasks such as instruction;
- you allow for additional services or programs to be offered;
Benefits to the volunteer
As a volunteer it is hoped that you will benefit from your time at Immanuel Christian School:
- in developing or refining your own skills;
- in receiving the appreciation and respect of students and staff;
- in achieving the satisfaction of making an important contribution to the Immanuel Christian School community in the sharing of skills, interests and experiences;
Matching the person to the job
It is important that your skills are properly matched so that your time is valued and used effectively. This develops a greater sense of self-worth on your part and a greater sense of appreciation on the part of the teacher for the work done.

Serving
At Immanuel Christian School we teach students the power of Christ to bring healing and restoration, and so we want to empower them and help them realize the choices they have, at a very young age, to make a difference. Their efforts can bring healing or restoration in a way that can change lives for individuals, families or whole communities.
We want our students to realize that God blesses those who give as well as those who receive. We believe that it is important for children to learn that when they are young. Each child learns to bring hope and in doing experience hope.
Encourage and foster growth in students to share their insights, skills, and gifts to honour God. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Peter 4:10
The Refuge
This year students collected hats, mittens, scarves and socks for the Refuge. As part of the Christmas program they brought in their gifts for the Christ Child to parallel the gifts which the Wisemen brought to Christ. The next day some upper class students helped bring the gifts to the Refuge.
